POWERLAB is a space to slow down, reflect, and quietly begin to take action. Here, sustainability sets the pace, and the story of electricity unfolds gently and meaningfully. From spring’s planting to winter’s storing, each activity is a conversation—with time, with nature, and with energy. We bring distant-sounding ideas like sustainability, net-zero, and energy transition into the warmth of everyday life. Through hands-on experiments, crafting, and storytelling, we make the invisible world of electricity feel tangible, relatable, and human. This isn’t a place of cold facts—it’s a space of quiet invitations. An invitation to step into the past and the future of energy, and to discover how electricity powers not only our world—but the rhythms of our lives.
HIGHLIGHTS
SCENES OF THE CITY
Located at the entrance of D/S ONE, Scenes of the City used to be the space between Taipower’s generator room and an underground vent. Redeveloped by designers, it has transformed into an experiential construction that is a perfect combination of the city’s fluid dynamism and matte stainless steel, blurring the previous line that coldly separated mechanical equipment and standardized architecture. In the substitution is a warm and bright flow of light, delicately manifesting the shapes and forms of Taiwan’s daily renewable energy output.

As one of the top educational venues for green energy, POWERLAB provides workshops for both school children and families. Based on the educational concept of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics), the lab’s diverse programs are designed to showcase concepts that are key to a green energy future. Here we explore the value of energy science and the invaluable advantages of sustainability.

Dive into a virtual journey through rushing waters and roaring wind fields, where you’ll feel the pulse of turbines and the rhythm of spinning blades. Discover how the immense forces of nature are transformed into the electricity that powers our daily lives. Are you ready to join us on this power-packed adventure?
NOTICE
Registration Rules
- Please register at the front desk on the first floor of D/S ONE.
- Each session is limited to 10 participants; registration will close once full.
- The experience lasts about 6 minutes and 30 seconds. Please check in 5 minutes before your reserved time.
- Participants who fail to check in will lose their eligibility for that session.
- If you feel any discomfort during the experience, such as dizziness or nausea, you may close your eyes first. If the discomfort persists, please immediately raise your hand and notify the staff.
Safety Instructions
- Eligibility: Participants must be between 140 cm and 200 cm in height and weigh under 100 kg.
- The following individuals are not recommended to experience:
- 2.1 Pregnant, those with heart disease or abnormal blood pressure, mobility impairments, claustrophobia, back/neck/spinal problems, asthma, epilepsy, those under the influence of alcohol or feeling unwell, and those who have recently undergone major surgery.
- 2.2 Those prone to motion sickness, those who easily feel chest tightness or dizziness during exercise, those who have just eaten, or those with acrophobia (fear of heights). Please consider carefully.
- 2.3 Participants over 60 years old should evaluate their own physical condition and decide at their discretion whether to ride.
By signing upon reservation, participants acknowledge that they fully understand the content of this service and agree to assume all possible risks.
The staff of the venue reserve the right to make the final decision regarding eligibility to ride.

Traditional Seasonal Workshop
Inspired by the unique features of each season, Taipower D/S One’s unique approach connects hands-on crafting experiences with energy topics to create distinctive and engaging forms of communication. Complex energy issues are transformed into creative and interactive learning experiences through enjoyable DIY activities, allowing participants to easily grasp links between energy and everyday life.
At Electromagic, solar terms and crafts are more than just cultural symbols—they serve as bridges to sustainability and inspiration. They help integrate energy education into daily life and serve as a spark that ignites awareness and action.
EDUCATION
In line with Taipower’s commitment to promoting sustainable energy education, and its continued investment in developing specialized talent and teaching resources, we actively encourage individuals from diverse disciplines to join us in sharing creative or research projects centered on energy education. Each year, we launch an open call based on an annual theme to gather a wide range of perspectives and works. Through forums and workshops, we foster dialogue and exchange—continuously illuminating the path toward a greener and more sustainable future.
