Each year, POWERLAB invites both local and international artists from different disciplines to join our long-term residency program and create art that shares ideas of sustainability. Consisting of the public space on the 1st floor and the corridor on the 2nd floor, the D/S ONE GALLERY has a curated focus on sustainability.
Artists and designers in residence, local and international alike, present creations that covey innovative thinking among energy-related issues.
Contemporary discourse on energy is incorporated into the artists' unique aesthetic point of views, inspiring imagination and broader horizons.
Talks and lectures are held on a regular basis to allow experts to share their visions.
D/S ONE GALLERY This large-scale suspension device uses coal ash, a white porcelain byproduct of the coal-fired power generation process, to display a model of electromagnetic data transmission by converting information into surface ripples. These ripples coalesce into a giant sculpture while showing the liquidity and organic nature of energy.
